Candlemass announce special anniversary EP & announce new singer

Candlemass are back to celebrate 30 years of Doom with a brand new EP!
Four studio tracks featuring Mats Levén on vocals are being recorded during for a special anniversary release early next year on Napalm Records.

Candlemass are also happy to announce that Mats Levén, who’s a longtime friend of the band, is now the permanent singer for the Swedish Doom Metal Squad.

Mats commented: “20 years ago, Leif invited me to the project Abstrakt Algebra. 10 years ago, I started helping Candlemass with their demos. Today, I'm happy to say that I'm the new singer of Candlemass. I truly believe that 2016 will be one of the best years in a long time for Candlemass! Big thanks to my brothers of doom: Janne, Lasse, Leif & Mappe.”

Per Wiberg is today also an essential part of the Candlemass live shows with his keyboards + filling in for Leif on bass until he’s back in shape again.

The band is currently recording the anniversary EP in Ghost Ward studios in Stockholm together with David Castillo who's been working with Avatarium, Katatonia, Opeth and Bloodbath. The four new Candlemass songs are reported to be very heavy and very metal!

"The new songs are more like the material on the Nightfall album than what we did on Psalms For the Dead", says Leif Edling. "Lot's of guitars, and cool riffs but also really good songs that I hope and think our fans will dig!"

The Body & Krieg: Trailer For Self-Titled Collaborative LP Created By Chariot Of Black Moth

An intense trailer for the impending collaborative self-titled album by apocalyptic doom duo, The Body and the architect of USBM innovators, Krieg, has been created by Chariot Of Black Moth as the LP creeps towards release in November via At A Loss Recordings.

Written and recorded during the long recording sessions of The Body's Christs, Redeemers (Thrill Jockey) and I Shall Die Here (RVNG Intl.) LPs at Machines With Magnets in Providence, Krieg's Neill Jameson showed up with only an acoustic guitar, a few pedals and a bottle of whiskey, Lee Buford and Chip King of The Body knew that the this material would produce something vastly different than their prior collaborations. The end result is a blackened industrial crush of noise and anguish. Noise, dirge, triggered percussion with King's screeches and Jameson's growls lead things off, and continuing through the nine tracks, crawling booms, chimes and moans to static plodding low-end and hopelessness moves to industrial tones, accusing roars. Erie keys, wails of misery lead to brief period of sonic chaos and pure madness. Madness leads the listener lumbering down the final path, complete with discordant percussion, electronic beeps, forlorn screams, cavernous blows, and ending in the sounds of otherworldliness, with nearly forty minutes of material.

Featuring new music from the impending LP, the harrowing new trailer for The Body & Krieg wasproduced by Chariot Of Black Moth, also responsible for intense trailers for Antigama, Rwake, Cowards, Dead To A Dying World, Trial and countless others.

View the trailer for The Body & Krieg now at this location.

Also hear the LP's lead track, "Bottom Of The Bottle, Bottom Of The River," at via Invisible Oranges here.

At A Loss Recordings will release The Body & Krieg on November 13th on all digital platforms, CD, cassette, and LP with digital download included. The artwork for the package was handled the amazingly Jason Bartell, also of Fang Island fame. Tons of preordering options and bundles are available here.

Expect both Krieg and The Body to have busy tour schedules throughout the remainder of 2015 and through 2016, including collaborative tour dates.

Saviours: Palace Of Vision Streaming In Full At MetalSucks; Record To Drop Via Listenable + Additional Live Dates Confirmed

West Coast riff peddlers, Saviours, will levy their thundering Palace Of Vision full-length upon the ears of the masses tomorrow via Listenable Records. Dark yet simultaneously driving and anthemesque, the band's first proper full-length in four years was captured at Type Foundry in Portland, Oregon with Billy Anderson (Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, Eyehategod, Taurus, Ommadon etc.) and delivers nine tumultuous tracks of herculean riffs, quaking rhythms and galloping guitar harmonies twined around a fixation on the apocalypse, the occult, psychedelics and the arcane.

In advance of its official descent and following previous track premieres with Decibel, Cvlt Nation and Invisible Oranges, today MetalSucks offers up the record in full noting, "Saviours are always good for a healthy dose of gnarly, NWOBHM fun; just the right amount of dirty rawness and just the right amount of Thin Lizzy polish. But, best of all, they never repeat themselves, which is so often the downfall of 'reliable' bands: they twist things up just enough to make each release an engaging listen, as they've done now over the course of five full-lengths and two EPs spanning a decade-plus career. Palace of Visions is their latest same-but-not-the-same endeavor, and you can stream it in full below."

Witness Palace Of Vision in all its head-jogging glory courtesy of MetalSucks at this location.

Following the release of Palace Of Vision, Saviours will kick off a North American Fall tour supporting Corrosion Of Conformity and Brant Bjork And The Low Desert Punk Band. Rooted in hardcore punk but preferring to cruise in outer space, Saviours have always brought an infectious swing and swagger to their forward-charging heavy metal. The band melds the prime tenets of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, progressive rock, and proto-doom, and delivers it all with a snarling, West Coast hardcore edge. The result is a rugged beast of a sound that is singularly Saviours.

Palace Of Vision will be released worldwide via Listenable Records on October 30th, 2015. Preorders for the album and vinyl are currently available by request at info@listenable.net.

Magic Circle Unveils Title Track To Journey Blind LP Via Beatroute Magazine

In preparation of the release of Magic Circle's sophomore LP, Journey Blind, through 20 Buck Spin next month, Beatroute Magazine has interrogated the band for an in-depth feature which has now been published alongside an exclusive stream of the album's title track.

The excellent write-up leading the Beatroute feature offers, "the seven-track release marks an evolution for the band who clearly culls their sound from the British classic doom side of the tracks. Herein lies Witchfinder General and Pagan Altar love aplenty, though channeled through the eyes of five men who have their feet equally planted in the genre of hardcore, where they began their musical journey." Later it proclaims, "We'll come right out and say it: Magic Circle has capped off 2015 triumphantly and with any luck, will appear on a plethora of year's best lists."

Dive into Beatroute's "Talking doom, vinyl and Magic Circle with guitarist Chris Corry" and premiere of the title track here.

Also stream Journey Blind's "A Ballad For The Vultures" through Decibel Magazine here.

Journey Blind sees its initial release in CD and digital formats on November 20th, with the vinyl to follow in early 2016. Stand by for further details and preorders for Journey Blind, tour dates and more on Magic Circle throughout the weeks ahead.

Following their self-titled debut which was well-received in metal and hardcore circles, Boston's Magic Circle returns with forty-five minutes of dominant, pure traditional doom-ridden heavy metal on Journey Blind, a record which sees the outfit doing what they do, but doing it even better. Self-produced and recorded by the band at guitarist CC's The Pain Cave, the record surges with the viscosity a team of top-tier producers would be proud to back. The cover art for Journey Blind is an unused piece by legendary artist Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Mammoth Grinder, Autopsy) dating to 1979 yet properly fitted to this modern ripper. Surging with over forty-five minutes of doomed heavy metal that invokes the masters in their purest form, Journey Blind is a record which could have been captured three decades ago yet booms with a refreshed spirit to guide today's misguided youth back to their unbeknownst roots.

Sabbath Assembly premiere new video at InvisibleOranges.com

Today, ecclesiastic rock/metal cult Sabbath Assembly premiere the new video "Burn Me, I Thirst For Fire" at heavily trafficked web-portal InvisibleOranges.com. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated fifth album, Sabbath Assembly, released on September 11th via Svart Records. It marks a new beginning for the band: its "Great Schism" from the Process Church of the Final Judgment. Like the albatross falling from the mariner's neck, the band has freed itself from the cult's theology in order to explore its own creations - with no special guest appearances or narrative frills. Sabbath Assembly is, in fact, a decidedly metal offering, for in the writing, the band returned to its own personal roots in the dark age of the '80s. These are Sabbath Assembly's own "hymns" for their own "church" – a place marked by passion, devotion, and the gospel of metal.

Regarding the video for "Burn Me, I Thirst For Fire," the band states: "The mystery of the egg and the snake - how does what goes into our ears affect what we birth into the world? The endless cycle of birthing the worm that grows into the snake that we eat and release back into the world as dust...without that growth, we die. Any error on the part of those responsible for that growth is punishable by death. Are we happy stuck in this loop?"

The primary thematic difference between Sabbath Assembly and its predecessors is that this album is about embodiment, addressing all the power and grit required to endure our human existence, rather than exploring spiritual philosophy alone. While the songs reference occult literature, such as Robert Chambers' The King in Yellow, Valeri Briussov's The Fiery Angel of Desire, and The Gospel of Thomas, these texts were chosen not because of their abstraction from the mundane, but rather their propensity to embrace it as a means to spiritual understanding. If something is to be taken away from the new Sabbath Assembly album, it is this: the mysteries of occult philosophy are revealed not through celestial charts and diagrams, but rather the subtleties of earthly love and loss. Hear and see some of those subtleties in the haunting video for "Burn Me, I Thirst for Fire" exclusively here, courtesy of InvisibleOranges.com. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Sabbath Assembly's Sabbath Assembly
1. Risen From Below
2. Confessing a Murder
3. Burn Me, I Thirst for Fire
4. Only You
5. The Fiery Angel of Desire
6. Ave Satanas
7. Sharp Edge of the Earth
8. Apparition of the Revolution
9. Shadows of Emptiness

Sabbath Assembly features Jamie Myers on vocals, David Christian on drums, Kevin Hufnagel on guitar, and the new addition of Johnny DeBlase on bass. The album was recorded by Colin Marston at Menegroth: The Thousand Caves Studio in Queens, NY. Comments drummer David Christian: "When we started the writing for this record, I was reading through hundreds of pages of Process texts, hunting for inspiration. All the writing seemed so stiff and jilted. Then I came across a letter that founder DeGrimston had written after having been excommunicated from the Church addressing the remaining congregation. It was so tragic, so moving – so much more heartfelt than his theological treatises. There was no talk of judgment or revenge in the letter, only bewilderment and heartache – but also forgiveness. My heart cracked open; I called Jamie and the band to discuss this new inspiration, and out came all these songs of heartbreak – our own songs, connecting us to all those who have ever experienced the pain of loss and the suffering of grief."

Medusa Crush Recordings to release "Beheaded" by Lightsabres on Oct 31st

Toronto's Medusa Crush Recordings are happy to announce that on October 31st 2015 they will release the cassette version of Beheaded by Sweden's Lightsabres. While the band's name may conjure up images of space battles and droids, their music is in fact a bewitching hybrid of doom, sludge, punk and psychedelia. This is the second album of Lightsabres that Medusa Crush has released on cassette.

Label owner Mathieu Sankeralli commented on the release: "After re-releasing the debut tape 'Demons', Medusa Crush Recordings is just as stoked to present the latest album of lo-fi punk goodness for release on ltd. cassette! For those who have been following Lightsabres, this album sees a progression in style and songwriting, yet with the brash and raucous signature sound you've come to know and love. This grand tape also marks the 10th release for MCR, and we couldn't be happier that we are offering such a cool album."

The cassette will be available in red (15 copies), green (25 copies) and black (60 copies).

The album will be available for purchase on October 31st via the Medusa Crush Recordings Bandcamp. You can hear and order the band's previous album Demons here.

Destroying The Devoid Featuring Craig Peters Of Deeds Of Flesh To Release Debut Full-Length Via Unique Leader Records

Destroying The Devoid, the progressive death metal project helmed by Craig Peters (Deeds Of Flesh, ex-Arkaik), will release their Paramnesia debut next year via Unique Leader Records.

Destroying The Devoid was forged in 2014 by Peters as an outlet to compose material beyond the traditional confines of technical death metal. "The song writing started back in the Summer of 2012," relays Peters, "At first it just began as a couple of songs that eventually evolved over time. Being a huge fan of orchestral music and film scores I definitely wanted the music to have a deep and emotional impact. These songs are dark, aggressive and very thematic. While at the music's core has a very progressive death metal sound, the songs flow in and out of many stylistic changes ranging from blackened death metal to more melancholic and ethereal passages and some very intense instrumental sections that will leave your head spinning."

"I'm very excited to join forces with Unique Leader Records," Peters continues. "Unique Leader has always been a great label to work with and I am really happy to have the opportunity to release my solo project with them."

Destroying The Devoid's Paramnesia will be mixed and mastered at Castle Ultimate Studios by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Arkaik, Wrvth, Fallujah) and see release in 2016. Further details to be announced in the coming months.

Norwegian Viking Metallers Helheim To Release Eighth Full-Length Album And To Perform Special Set At Blekkmetal Festival

Over four years have passed since Helheim released their last album, and now the veteran Norwegian Viking metallers are set to release their eighth full-length album on the 4th December on Dark Essence Records. Titled "raunijaR", the album was recorded at Conclave & Earshot Studio by Vulture Industries' Bjørnar Nilsen and was mastered by Enslaved's Herbrand Larsen.

In the intervening years between 2011's critically acclaimed "Heiðindómr ok Mótgangr" and the upcoming release of "raunijaR" , Helheim have been both experimenting with, and building on, their unique take on the Viking Metal genre. As well as completing the themes that have woven their way through Helheim's music since the very beginning, it is with "raunijaR" that the band completes the "Åsgards Fall " storyline that began with the EP of that name in 2010.

Helheim's lineup comprises V'gandr on bass and vocals, H'grimnir on guitar and vocals, Hrymr on drums and Noralf on guitars. V'gandr himself has been expanding and perfecting his clean vocals, and now, when the two vocalists combine to sing clean vocals, new elements are added to the band's sound. Guest vocals on "raunijaR" come from Alfahanne's Pehr Skjoldhammer and Norwegian musician William Hut, with additional guests performing on violin, piano and horns to further enhance Helheim's dark and heavy atmospheres and create a truly epic masterpiece.

Artwork is by H'grimnir from www.coverart.no. Track listing on "raunijaR" as follows:
1. Helheim 9
2. Raunijar
3. Åsgards Fall III
4. Åsgards Fall IV
5. Odr

Commenting on "raunijaR" V'gandr had this to say: "The opening track "Helheim 9" is actually the last in the line of the Helheim tracks where Hrymr in particular has been the creative force. He has combined his unique creativity and symbolism in a way that overwhelms everything that came before, and the result is a truly fitting closure.

"The title track "raunijaR" continues on from Helheim's "Heiðindómr ok Mótgangr", and has a relentlessly driving sound that showcases the confrontational, yet familiar, black metal sound in the vein of "Dualitet og Ulver". "Åsgards Fall" Parts 3 and 4 will be the final and vital link in the completion of the theme that was begun in both lyrical and musical terms with the "Åsgards Fall" MCD. Closing the album is "Odr", a solemn track that gives the album an ending full of the grandeur and respect that it deserves."

In November Helheim will make a special appearance at BlekkMetal Festival which runs from the 13th to the 15th November at USF Verftet in Bergen. The one-off event is billed as a tribute to the birth of the Norwegian Black Metal scene, and will hark back to the atmosphere, bands, art and individuals from the scene pre 1994. Helheim will perform their debut album "Jormundgand" on Saturday 14th to mark the 20th Anniversary of its release. They will also be interviewed live on stage along with Enslaved, and will be discussing how their lyrical narratives and their musical craft have been influenced by their Viking roots and traditions.

Included on the BlekkMEtal bill are veteran bands such as Taake, Kampfar, Aeternus, Hades Almighty, Gehenna, Enslaved, and brand new bands such Gaahls Wyrd, and a special onetime only reunion of the legendary Old Funeral. Also appearing will be The C.L.A.S.P. Ritual /Dirge Rep - a tribute band consisting of legendary musicians such as Dirge Rep himself, Skagg, Gaahl, Garm and many more.

Some of the top Norwegian tattoo artists will be present at the event, and will be available for appointments, including, Colin Dale, Kai Uwe Faust and Tor Ola Svennevig, three Viking tattooists who work entirely by hand, without the use of machines. Art exhibitions, movies and guest speakers will also be featured at the event. More information about the BlekkMetal Festival, as well as ticket details can be found here.

Ne Obliviscaris have released a stunning play-through video of the track "Painters of the Tempest (Part II) Triptych Lux" featuring their bassist Brendan "Cygnus" Brown. The clip is currently presented by Guitar World as an exclusive here.

Brendan comments about his video: "I have had many requests to do a play through of this song. It is the most challenging track on the album for me. Given its length, dynamics and attention to detail. This song was recorded straight from AXE FX into Protools 8. Sony HDR-CX130 camera linked up in Sony Vegas 11. Quite hard to line up perfectly. Sorry for the minuscule delay!"

"Ne Obliviscaris", which means "forget not" is the proud motto of Clan Campbell. These highlanders were as successful as ruthless and served as an inspiration for George R. R. Martin's blockbuster series "Game of Thrones". Yet the Australian band Ne Obliviscaris is neither dealing with folk metal nor bloody minded. It should be mentioned though that their compositions are at least as complex as Scotland's history. These six musicians share the adventurous spirit of Argyll's clansmen. The multi-layered songs of their sophomore album 'Citadel' are building on a foundation of harsh metal with avant-garde elements of jazz, flamenco, progressive rock, and many more. Ne Obliviscaris display extraordinary musicianship and a depth of profound compositional abilities, one hardly expects from such a young group. This impression is confirmed by one of Australia's most prestigious classical conservatories, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music adding the song "And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope" taken from Ne Obliviscaris' acclaimed debut full-length 'Portal of I' (2012) to their teaching curriculum. The band was founded in the beautiful Australian coastal City of Melbourne, Victoria in the year 2003. Their first demo 'The Aurora Veil' (2007), Ne Obliviscaris already garnered massive word-of-mouth prominence within the metal underground. Major press caught up with the debut album 'Portal of I', which showcased their unique array of influences and dynamic songwriting with a virtuous violin significantly adding to the sound. The Australians also gained a reputation as an excellent live act, while supporting Devin Townsend, Enslaved, Between The Buried & Me, Cradle Of Filth among others. After a highly successful three week headline tour throughout Asia including a sold out show in Tokyo, Japan Ne Obliviscaris started a crowd funding campaign to support further international touring. Their target of 37.500 US Dollars was reached in only 38 hours and the final sum of 56.644 US Dollars broke the previous Australian record. With 'Citadel' the band has begun to conquer the world. Mixed and mastered Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia), this album spells international success for Ne Obliviscaris in capitals letter. Don't miss their shows and judge for yourself!

Sofy Major: Third LP From Noise Rock Ragers Playing At New Noise Magazine; Waste Out This Week On Solar Flare Records

With blunt force, French hardcore noise rockers, Sofy Major, will deliver their third LP, Waste, through Solar Flare Records this week, as they continue to hammer European masses on tour with labelmates, Pigs. Helping soil the airwaves with the entire album just days ahead of its release, New Noise Magazine is now offering the public a first whiff of the band's Waste with a full stream of the record.

On Waste, Sofy Major enlisted Unsane's Dave Curran to produce the album at Black Box Studio in France. The output was then mixed by Andrew Schneider at Translator Audio in Brooklyn (Unsane, Keelhaul, Cave In), and mastered by Carl Saff. With just under forty-two minutes of new material, Waste sees Sofy Major charting new boundaries, and at a more relaxed pace. While not shying away from their rampant outbursts, the raging appears more subdued, with slightly more melodious sensibilities enveloping its delivery. The grimy Unsane/Harvey Milk/Hammerhead-influenced Big-Muff sonic core of the band's delivery is here fused to a rocked-out underbelly analogous to the output of Coliseum, Big Business, Rising, Floor, and the like.

Solar Flare Records -- the label owned and operated by Sofy Major bassist/vocalist Mathieu Moulin, and home to Pigs, American Heritage, Fashion Week, Watertank, The Great Sabatini and more -- prepares for Waste to be dumped upon the public this Friday, October 30th.

Deploy Sofy Major's entire Waste LP via New Noise here.

The band's "We See Fire" video is also playing at No Clean Singing here.

Orders for Waste on CD, LP with both black and marbled black/orange wax as well as merch and bundles can be placed here.

Vice's music channel, Noisey, tagged Sofy Major's output as, "caustic noisecore that is somewhere between Coliseum and Harvey Milk," and No Clean Singing declared, "It rocks awfully damned hard, with big, fat, fuzz-bombed riffs, hard-punching drum beats, and a gravelly bass providing the force, and Mathieu Moulin's gritty, wailing voice providing the heat." Sterokiller's 4/5 review of the record included in part, "Waste is a well composed mixture of excitable, upbeat performances that can turn to miserable and downtrodden at the drop of a hat and never feel forced doing so... The inclusion of post-metal elements to the standard hardcore and sludge filled world is a match made in heaven as far as Sofy Major's output goes. If you're a fan of the likes of Unsane, Hammerhead, or even Arabrot, Waste is something you're going to want to check out." And a review at the Outlaws Of The Sun blog included, "Sofy Major are everything you want in a sludgy, noise rock outfit with the added bonus of some of the most anthemic riffs and melodies the genre could ever hope for. Their newest album, Waste is one of the catchiest records of the year."

Sofy Major is currently embarked on another massive European tour with labelmates Pigs in support of Waste. The trek, having been underway since October 15th, will continue to rumble through November 13th, with more than half of the tour taking place in France in addition to gigs throughout Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy.

Poison Tongues was founded with the emphasis to inject as much of the brutal '90s influence of their past projects into this new beast. Steady lineup changes over the past five years have finally settled with the band's most solid and furious alignment of personnel to date, each member bringing a different element of volatility into the mix, which culminates into a vicious, streetwise attack with a scorching thrash edge. Forging against the corrupted media blitz that controls our society, the group delivers an intelligent and uninterrupted glimpse of personal and also political hymns that are learned and gathered through everyday life, the goal of Poison Tongues to inform as much as it is to destroy every stage the band comes into contact with.

'Under the Same Sky' will be released on December 14th.

Sonic Medusa featuring members of Goatsnake, The Obsessed, Hollywood Rose and Angus Khan – to release The Sunset SoundHouse Tapes this December

Formed in 2009, the venerable LA super group Sonic Medusa – featuring members of Goatsnake, The Obsessed, Hollywood Rose and Angus Khan – have already drawn comparisons with the likes of Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Alice Cooper and a whole host of other, celebrated groups of the era.

With their debut EP The Sunset SoundHouse Tapes – officially released this December on the formidable Ripple Music – the band digs its heavy heels in deep, integrating the powerful influence of late 70s/early 80s NWOBHM via twin guitar assaults and rhythms reminiscent of Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest and early Iron Maiden.

Brought out of semi-retirement by the lure of making music with Sonic Medusa, Greg Rogers, who has remained at the centre of the US doom/stoner/desert rock scene as powerhouse drummer for The Obsessed and Goatsnake, joins fellow Goatsnake band mate Scott 'The Low-End Lumberjack' Renner. Described by all he meets as a 6'4, walking wall of sound, Renner also served time in numerous outfits as bassist for sludge/doom band Sourvein and North Carolina post punkers Brickbat.

Leading the charge up front for the Californian quartet is new singer/guitarist Dirty D – former front man of the notorious LA punk rock band B-Movie Rats, and later, the pyrotechnic Angus Khan – and fellow guitarist, Steven Darrow. Darrow, who earned his spurs as a young Californian punk with The Decadents, Christian Death and Super Heroines went on to become bass player in the mid-80s for the Motörhead-meets-Nazareth inspired hard rock band Hollywood Rose… later known as Guns 'N' Roses.

Sonic Medusa's first live gig was opening for the legendary proto-metal godfathers (and one of their biggest influences), Blue Cheer. They have also shared stages with other, heavy rock pioneers such as Pentagram, Wino (St. Vitus) and young heavyweights like Radio Moscow, The Shrine, Mike Watt, The Freeks and Mothership.

With upcoming engineer/audio-guru David Schwerkolt at the board, The Sunset SoundHouse Tapes was recorded at the legendary Sunset Studios, Hollywood; the spiritual home and birthplace of definitive recordings like Exile On Main St by The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and Led Zeppelin's IV.

The Sunset SoundHouse Tapes will be released on 11th December 2015 on Ripple Music and can be purchased digitally via Ripple's Bandcamp page here.

Ereb Altor to release Bathory tribute

Swedish Ereb Altor have just returned from their successful tour with Cruachan and every visitor on this tour (or also already on the tours and festivals before) had the pleasure to witness the Gävle Vikings playing a fantastic coversong of Bathory´s milestone "Twilight Of The Gods". Every fan knowing about Ereb Altor´s career is aware that they are by far not a Bathory tribute or cover band, but Quorthon and his legendary band is one of the main influences and with tons of heart and soul Ereb Altor transport this heritage to the present age! Now Ereb Altor choose to record 7 Bathory classics for a special vinyl only release entitled "Blot – Ilt – Taut" (which is old Swedish and means nothing less than "Blood – Fire – Death"!!!), where they praise with reverence and much respect the mighty works of Tomas "Ace" Börje Forsberg who sadly passed away in 2004 much too early.

Here´s what Mats of Ereb Altor wants to let you know about this special release: "During the years of Ereb Altor I have often been confronted with these words: 'You should record some Bathory hymns!' And recently this has happened more frequently, perhaps due to the fact that we at some rare occasions have done a Bathory song or two live. This has been haunting my mind. If we would do this, how should we do this? There is only one answer to that question: WE WILL DO IT FROM THE HEART !!! And for us it was also important to put our Ereb Altor touch on these magnificent works of Quorthon. The classic albums that I grew up with are closer to my heart than the post "Twilight of the Gods" albums. So we decided to do only songs from the classic albums. So many great songs to choose from! Let's make a full album while we're at it. So it shall be done ! Our next release "BLOT – ILT – TAUT" will contain seven Bathory hymns interpretated by Ereb Altor."

"BLOT – ILT – TAUT" will be released via Cyclone Empire on vinyl (& digital) on the 26th of February 2016 and you can expect: 1 Song from the first release "Scandinavian Metal Attack" 1 Song from "Under the sign of the Black Mark" 2 Songs from "Blood Fire Death" 2 Songs from "Hammerheart" 1 Song from "Twilight of the Gods"

Here´s a first teaser to make your mouths water :-):

More infos like the tracklist and so on will be coming in the next weeks!!!

R.I.P. Quorthon! All Hail Bathory! All Hail Ereb Altor!!!
