Thrashened black metal unit Frosthelm sign to Matt Hyde's Black Work (Alkemy Brothers) label and are set to release their debut full length album, The Endless Winter on March 22.
Formed in 2009, Frosthelm hail from the frozen plains of North Dakota, where the extreme weather and bleak environment has left a profound and distinct mark on their sound. With two critically acclaimed self-produced and released recordings under their belt, they have recently joined forces with esteemed metal mastermind Matt Hyde's new label Black Work (Alkemy Bothers). They are set to unleash their darkest material to date via their debut full length, The Endless Winter.
A vile brew of black/thrash metal, The Endless Winter is abundant with punishingly memorable riffs, melodic frostbitten savagery, and plague infused revulsion down to it's frozen core. Guitarist Dakota L. Irwin describes the album as "bitter, dark, angry and disgusted."
Tracked at Clear Lake Recording Studios in Los Angeles during July 2014, The Endless Winter was produced and engineered by Eric Milos and Alec Schneider. Drum engineering was handled by Sir Robert Kramer at Mekoche Studios in Bismarck, ND. Mixing and mastering duties were helmed by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Skeletonwitch, Kreator).

International power prog metal band Blackwelder have announced “Survival Of The Fittest” as the title of their upcoming debut album, due to be released on April 24, 2015 via German label GoldenCore Records/ZYX Music.
Hailing from the four corners of the world, Blackwelder is a brand new metal experience featuring some of the top names in power prog metal today. Arguably the best singer in all of metal, Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex-Gamma Ray) fronts this extraordinary outfit at the top of his game, alongside guitar virtuoso Andrew Szus (Seven Seraphim). Bjorn Englen (Dio Disciples, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen) and Aquiles Priester (Primal Fear, ex-Angra) round out this unstoppable team of what quite possibly could be one of the greatest lineups metal has ever seen.
The pre-mix of the song 'The Night Of New Moon' can be streamed here.
The new album was mixed by Matt Smith (Theocracy), mastered by Anfinn Skulevold (Abhoth, Access Hollywood) and Artwork by Mario Bouffier (Iggy Pop, Sacred Reich).
Blackwelder is a winning formula of raw musical virtuosity that holds the listener’s ears right from the start. This act is surely not one to be missed and cannot be denied.
Putrid Offal has announced that their first gig in 20 years will be a live session for French radio show Killing Machine (airplay on Radio Campus Lille, PodCasts available on MixCloud). The metal show is one of the oldest on French radio. Scheduled for airplay on February 15, this session will mark Putrid Offal's official live return in support of their February 2015 debut full-length Mature Necropsy on Kaotoxin Records and will be the first of an ongoing series of shows, including appearances at Unideath Fest (BE) on May 23 and at DeathFeast (DE) September 10-12.
DJ Arno Geenens was part of Underground Records / Reincarnate Records in the 90s and responsible for the release of several Supuration albums and the Obscurum per Obscurium compilation (1992), which featured six of the best extreme metal underground bands from the Northern France scene. The Putrid Offal contribution to that release can be found on their 90s discography compilation Premature Necropsy.
Picking up where the Suffering EP, the band's vehement return from hiatus, left off, Mature Necropsy is the first Putrid Offal full-length in 25 years. Mature Necropsy, will be released on February 10 via Kaotoxin Records and will feature the band's entire back catalogue completely re-written and re-recorded. Kaotoxin is offering the album as a 1000 copies limited edition double DigiSleeve CD, with both Mature Necropsy along with bonus cover versions and Premature Necropsy, a compilation of all of their 90s original material, remastered. The digital version will come as two separate releases.

Today, sepulchral black/death cult Hic Iacet premiere the new track "The Cosmic Trance Into the Void" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's debut album of the same name, The Cosmic Trance Into the Void, set for international release today via Iron Bonehead Productions. The mysterious Spanish entity of Hic Iacet is rumored to include various movers 'n' shakers of the underground, and also equally rumored to be a solo-project of one supremely sick individual. Five members or none, Hic Iacet's debut demo Hedonist of the Death floored anyone who heard it, especially when it was reissued on 12" vinyl and sold out almost immediately. The band followed it was the equally gutsfucking Prophecy of Doom 7", bettering their barbarity that much more. And at long last, Hic Iacet emerges from the funeral fog with their highly anticipated debut album, The Cosmic Trance Into the Void. As suggested by its title as well as mystical cover artwork, The Cosmic Trance Into the Void displays a more dynamic, daresay transcendental Hic Iacet. Whereas the band's previous works firmly situated themselves between bestial black metal and morbid death metal, here on their debut LP, Hic Iacet meld both poles into a throbbing mass that mesmerizes and malforms the listener in equal measure. Its pulse is ritualistic and yet never less than savage: pure, undiluted physicality that seeks to transform the psyche, both of practitioner and receiver. A cavernous womb/tomb of pestilence, echoing sepulchral bellows from nameless depths, The Cosmic Trance Into the Voidwill take you there... Hear evidence of such exclusively here, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

British hard rock legends UFO release a new teaser for the upcoming studio album "A Conspiracy Of Stars".
Of course you don’t need to attach more importance to this piece of news than it necessarily has, but it certainly deserves to be mentioned: for the first time in more than 20 years, one of the most British rock bands in music history has recorded a studio album in their native country. Their latest offering is entitled A Conspiracy Of Stars, was cut by rock legend UFO and breathes that typically British easy-going confidence for which this band has been known for over 45 years. A strong release consisting of eleven songs which combine everything that the group surrounding frontman Phil Mogg stands for: meaty riffs, distinctive hooks, diverse songwriting, intelligent lyrics and that generally laid-back attitude which we have associated with UFO from the start. The fact that A Conspiracy Of Stars was produced and mixed by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, among others) may be considered another successful element in a thoroughly consistent release. To cut a long story short: their 22nd studio recording to date sees UFO prove that past and present can be blended in a homogeneous whole.

The American power metal-band Trauma should be known to quite a few heavy metal-enthusiasts out there through their contribution to the “Metal Massacre”-sampler and the release of their 1984 debut album “Scratch And Scream”. By the way, the late, great Cliff Burton played bass on their first demo recording... Now, after three decades, the band from California have decided to give it another go! Trauma has returned to deliver more face-melting heavy metal unto the hungry masses! Ladies and gentlemen, we from Pure Steel are proud to present you “Rapture And Wrath”, their first album in thirty years!
It’s all there: The powerful and charismatic high-pitched vocals of Donny Hillier, which can be described as a cross between Geoff Tate and Bruce Dickinson, the hard rockin’ guitars and many exciting melodic passages. This album has everything you need, satisfaction guaranteed! On „Rapture And Wrath“, groove, anthemic melodies and catchy hooklines go hand in hand. Combine that with a clean, crisp production and you got yourself a hell of a good time.
Welcome back, gents! „Rapture And Wrath“ has lived up to our expectations! Trauma has returned!

Israeli metal outfit Ferium are hard at work in the studio working on their upcoming concept album, Behind the Black Eyes. Video footage from the recording sessions can be viewed at this location.
Behind The Black Eyes greatly expands the concept first introduced on Ferium's debut album Reflections. The connection between the two albums is evident in part by the inclusion of a new track titled "Reflections," while the debut album contained the song "The Black Eyes." Behind The Black Eyes is the story of one man's deteriorating relationship from beginning to end; from promising beginnings to the bitter end. Musically, Behind the Black Eyes raises the intensity level and deepens the impact with powerful riffs and melodic atmospheric parts, ensuring that nary a listener is left unaffected by the experience. Behind the Black Eyes is one again being produced and recorded by Ferium guitarist Boxer at his very own Boxer Studio.
Ferium released Reflections on CD and digital formats in 2014. The album was met with praise by critics and fans worldwide and received Album of the Week honors from RevolverMag.com. Select tracks from Reflections are streaming here

Today, doom-sludge upstarts Morbid Evils premiere the new track "South of Hell" at heavily trafficked web-portal MetalSucks.net. The track hails from Morbid Evils' highly anticipated debut album, In Hate With The Burning World, set for international release on March 6th via Svart Records. Formed by Keijo Niinimaa (Rotten Sound), the Finnish four-piece crawled out from the sewers in early 2014, and have already sparked off a buzz after a string of underground shows and the digital single "In Hate," released last August. And that buzz continues to grow, as MetalSucks has declared the band is "its own special thing...and it's one that we love." Now, feel more of Morbid Evils' throbbing filth exclusively here, courtesy of MetalSucks.net.
Morbid Evils started in early 2014 out of the members' shared love of downtuned riffs played at a slug's pace and their hatred of humanity in general, and at the brink of summer, they found themselves with an album's worth of original material. Recording sessions and post-production took place throughout the hot season in the darkness of the band's own rehearsal room. The album was created from start to finish with a strongly organic approach, and much of the instrumentation was recorded live. Comments Keijo Niinimaa, "We have a desolate worldview, and our aim is to create soundscapes that suck the listener into fiery sewers in which there is no hope for a future." Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
Tracklisting for Morbid Evils' In Hate With The Burning World
3. In Hate

Woods, banks, breath in the mist... a man reflects, acts, observes. This is the habitat where winds "Curve Sternum": the new long-awaited album by The Magik Way, out on May 11 on Sad Sun Music and distributed by My Kingdom Music.
An authentic and direct trip, made of real feelings as the sound of the album, that envelops the listener through a vivid and obsessive mood, as tradition of this legendary band sprung by a glorious past, who was born in 1996 and starred in an unequaled musical evolution, between Alchemy and theatricality, choral and Hermeticism.
The Monolith Deathcult are now premiering the first new track taken from their forthcoming EP 'Bloodcvlts'. The Dutch death dealers are streaming a lyric video for the song "Reign of Hell" exclusively via these official media partners:
Radio Metal (FR)
Kronos Mortus (HU)
Metal Wani (IN)
Marunouchi Muzik (JP)
Musick Magazine (PL)
Zero Tolerance (UK)
'Bloodcvlts has been scheduled for release on March 23rd and is now available for pre-order through the Season of Mist shop.
The band has delivered the following threat:
"To fill the gap between the musically extremely disappointing 'Tetragrammaton' and their newest assault on the fundamental canons of good taste in art in general, The Monolith Deathcult decided to record their first EP 'Bloodcvlts' containing 6 crushing tracks with heinous lyrics (which will get stuck like a fishbone in the throat), a remix of 'Todesnacht von Stammheim' (let’s try to polish the turd), a live track recorded somewhere in Europe and very rare tracks inspired by their performance on National Icelandic Radio."
On further news, The Monolith Deathcult also reveal the artwork and tracklist of 'Bloodcvlts' today, which are shown below:
1. Reign of Hell
2. I Conquistador
3. Der Hexenhammer
4. Doom of the Tawusê Melek
5. Hangmen Also Die
7. Die Waffe Mensch RMX
8. Den Ensomme Nordens Dronning
On more breaking news, The Monolith Deathcult have informed on two line-up changes:
"With deep regret we have to announce that Ivo Hilgenkamp will not return to us. Ivo fell for the hipster Djent /ˈdʒɛnt/ movement and left the flock for a spiritual journey to the Ravi Shankar Madrassa to discover the deeper meanings and philosophy of the Djent-cult.
Michiel sobs, 'I am a rock n' roll sort type of guy. I just like to plug in and play some tunes of my guitar instead of endless discussions about where I have to put my hand for the ultimate Djent chord.'
Robin grunted, 'I was already fed up when he showed up with all those neck tattoos, an endorsement for 12-string bass guitars and oversized Buddy Holly hipster glasses. I'm the one wearing the god damn glasses. And Carsten.'
Carsten, 'I was getting worried when he started to buy tons of compressors, overdrives, tube screamers, distortions, and Shimmer Reverb pedals to get a perfect djenty tone. Your sound isn't in the pedals but it's in the kleiters.'
We are not looking for a replacement."
And furthermore the band comments on their now former drummer Sjoerd:
"Consolidating our status as ruthless slave-traders, we have sold Sjoerd into servitude. He was sold - for a good price, naturally - to the CERN institute in Switzerland, where his human metronome-skills will replace a decidedly inferior nuclear clock for the Large Hadron Collider. Says Robin, 'It was about time. At some point he was going to find out, we weren't actually playing along with his drumming. We were all bracing for the day he would take off his headphones and find us all out.'
We are not looking for a replacement."
Blackout announce release of new album via RidingEasy Records in March / stream new song via CVLTNation
This March Brooklyn’s self-proclaimed “pillars of rock and roll righteousness” will release their new, self-titled album through Los Angeles’ equally badass record label RidingEasy Records.
Blackout was initially formed by guitar player/vocalist Christian Gordy and drummer Taryn Waldman at Gordy’s July 4th cookout in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York back in 2011. Waldman, a former Hooter's waitress turned big time commercial film editor and Gordy; a one-legged bartender/artist/BBQ enthusiast were (by their own admission) something of an oddball couple for NY's rigid metal scene. Yet with no direction and zero discussion both connected instantly and instinctively began banging out massive caveman jams against a patriotic backdrop of food, alcohol and the stars and stripes.
In fact as far as names go, choosing Blackout – suggesting a power crash, sudden and temporary loss of consciousness or a mob hit on an entire family – was a total no brainer.
In the months that followed the pair recruited close friend Justin Sherrell on bass duties, and as things began to get louder and considerably heavier in November 2012 the trio entered Vacation Island Studio with engineer and producer Rob Laakso (Diamond Nights, Swirlies, Kurt Vile) to record their debut release We Are Here. Choosing to self-release the album on vinyl in early 2013 it garnered plenty of acclaim from some of the hottest blogs du jour and was praised for its Melvins-esque ferocity and pounding Sleep-like groves. “Blackout get it right, hammering jam after jam, pound after pound. The smoky swirls buzz with electric accusations and shock-therapy repressions.” (Heavy Planet)
Following an extensive gigging regime in, around and way beyond New York’s city limits with acts like Acid King, Weedeater and Trouble the band took to the studio once again in the summer of 2013 to record a body of new songs. Songs that strictly worked off the riffs spontaneously summoned during practice sessions where old material was revived, ideas hashed out and sounds reworked into the record you will soon hear in full. Songs that make up Blackout, the band’s eagerly awaited follow up and soon to be released revelation on RidingEasy Records.
Blackout by Blackout will be released worldwide on RidingEasy Records on 31st March 2015.
Live review: Blackdeath, Ondskapt, Archgoat and Inquisition at Doornroosje, Nijmegen, The Netherlands
Way too early we arrived at Doornroosje, Nijmegen. Ready for a long evening full of black metal. In the freezing cold, slowly more people are arriving. A little bit later than planned the doors open and the black metal horde can go inside to prepare for training their neck muscles and going fully insane at some black metal. Four bands are going to perform this evening.
First band of the evening is Blackdeath. The men from Russia start when the background music is still playing and they immediately blow you away with their wall of sound. Musically the band plays solid black metal, but not very special, just black metal. Vocally it wasn't that good, the frontman has an good sound in his voice but every word he said sounded the same. It was more a long-time screaming sound than vocals. The whole band didn't have a little bit of contact with the crowd either. All together, Blackdeath was a little bit disappointing.
Then it was time for Ondskapt. These Swedes were a lot better than the first band. First of all, when they came onstage it was more of an performance, the vocalist was fully dressed in black metal outfit. The band had more contact with the crowd and you could see that crowd was responding more to that. It was getting busier and people like it more in my opinion. The vocalist had some troubles with the microphone, but this wouldn't let him down. He had an amazing voice and together with the sort of growl he had, he also had some more clean singing which had an very nice contrast with the growls. You could hear that he also had an amazing vocal range.
After the performance of Ondskapt, we got some drinks and were planning to see (and buy) some merchandise. When we would go back to the place the third band was already playing. It was Archgoat. As the place was fully loaded with people, we almost couldn't go in and when we finally got in, we didn't see anything. So we decided to skip this band.
After a long while it was finally time for the headlining act, Inquisition! While the most people were going to the toilet of getting a smoke, we had plenty of space to get in the room where it soon would happen. We got some space to stand, we got something to drink and we were ready for the black metal of Inquisition. Lights got out and the intro of Inquisition started. The curtains got open and one hell of a light show started together with the very nice wall of sound the two men of Inquisition produced. You immediately got possessed by the music they produced. What a hell of a show by just two people! Blasting drums, heavy guitarsounds and the voice of Dagon which was as unique as always. You could see at the crowd that the energy Inquisition blew off the stage was absorbing really good to the people. Inquisition was absolutely the highlight of the evening.

Decibel Magazine teams up with Monolith to bring you their first single "Caravan" from the forthcoming album "Against the Wall of Forever"!
Check out the new tune here.
"Against The Wall Of Forever" is scheduled for a Feb 10th release date through Funeral Noise Records. Pre Order is available here along with bundles.
About Monolith and "Against The Wall Of Forever" Its not often that a wide array of musical styles can come together so well. "Against The Wall Of Forever" is catchy, thrashy, punky southern fried heavy metal goodness. Angry , assaultive heavy rock, bursting with effective and pointed songwriting. It has serious heavy metal groove plus some anger and aggression thrown in for fun. Monolith homages the music they refer to as "Pure Metal". Over-driven guitars, soaring vocals, and face-melting solos all tied in to keep the feel of the early days of metal.
Featuring album art by Matthew Haas, "Against the Wall of Forever" was recorder at L.I.E Studios in San Marcos, CA and produced by Wiley Miranda. It also features 8 new high-flying tracks that will make you feel as if you've time travelled to when British heavy metal ruled supreme. Monolith features current and former members of: The Hookers, MF Ruckus, The Embalmers, Zombie Cartel, and Nixon

Musical movements are often referred to as cyclical. Every few moons, a band surfaces who borrows just enough from the past to infuse a new vitality into the musical present. Father Sky's sound makes listeners recall a time when guitar-driven blues-rock was in its proverbial prime. A four-piece from Austin, Texas, Father Sky have spent the last year perfecting both their songwriting and stage show. Guitarist/Vocalist "Arkansas" Dave Pennington and Jim Ortiz deliver a virtuosic twin guitar attack with a maturity older than they look; bassist Jonah Holt and drummer Chris Ortiz are the guardians of the band’s thunderous rhythm section. Pennington fronts the soul-driven blues rock militia with a passion & voice reminiscent of the early eras of Led Zeppelin and Muddy Waters.
Pennington explains “Father Sky is the culmination of everything I've ever wanted to accomplish musically- a creative outlet for me to see the world through music. I handpicked some of the finest musicians in Austin that I admire for their dedication to their instrument, and the desire to do something bigger than ourselves. It is a sound influenced by the roots of rock and metal, blended with the sounds of the South, that our personal influences- Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, & Muddy Waters (just to name a few...)- set in motion for us to continue the tradition of Rock N Roll.”
This March, Father Sky will release their debut EP “Tower Heist” via their DIY label Ouachita Music. The EP was produced and arranged by the band’s frontman David Pennington, the record uses analog recording technology to organically capture a hybrid of five, groove-laden chapters of heavy blues rock.
Gargantuan guitar riffs, roaring bass lines, and pistonic percussion kissed with soulful rock vocals displays the renegade stride of Father Sky and will prepare you for the live experience awaiting you when the band tours the U.S. throughout 2015.

Tower Heist track listing is:

One Way Mirror, who is currently one of the biggest rock bands to come out of France, released their brand new album titled Capture via Pavement yesterday. In celebration of the release, the band also released their new music video for their single “Stinkin’ of Gold” which premiered on Revolvermag.com here along with being featured as song of the day!
You can buy Capture here.
One Way Mirror made its American debut in 2008 on Metal Blade Records with its self titled album. The album received rave reviews from both critics and fans alike. The band released two more European only albums and are prepared to make their sophomore return to North America with "Capture". The album contains a more melodic rock approach combining elements of American hard rock and European melodic metal.
The band currently plans to tour Europe with Soilwork and also have a full North American tour in the works. Fans of European melodic metal such as Lacuna Coil, In Flames, and Volbeat will embrace this piece along with American fans of Seether, Alice In Chains, and Deftones.
Philadelphia/Brooklyn grinders Unrest have debuted new track "Quit" from upcoming album Grindcore. Check out the exclusive stream and an interview with the band here .
Grindcore will be released on Unspeakable Axe Records March 24.
If the band name doesn't spell it out for you, the album title surely will. This is nothing but grindcore - stripped down, unpretentious, and loud. At the same time, it's much more than that. Unrest is comprised of craftsmen from bands both familiar (Woe, Trenchrot and those about to be (Dark Descent's up-and-coming doom act, Crypt Sermon). The riff and song construction throughout this debut album is right in line from what you'd expect from a group of such capable veterans. They wear their Nasum (and by proxy, Napalm Death) influence on their sleeves, but through sheer mastery of the craft elevate the material well beyond a mere tribute to old masters. Check out the track "Anything to Shock" at this location.

Swedish death metal masters Demonical have recently went into the studio to record what will be the band's brand new EP. The material is scheduled for a spring release via Agonia Records.
The first new tracks since the release of the 2013's acclaimed "Darkness Unbound" album (which you can buy here), are being recorded in Amplified Studios (drums) and Wing Studios (rest of the instruments) in Sweden, with Sverker Widgren (vocals) behind the knobs. Sverker will also be handling the mixing and mastering duties in the near future.
On the recording of the new EP, bassist Martin Schulman commented: "Armed with blood and iron we have hereby started the recording process of a new four track EP, once again bringing forth the ravishing sounds of HM-2 and razorsharp chants of Stockholm-style death metal darkness. The hour of death draws near!".
Spawned in March 2006 by members of Centinex, Demonical preserves the flame of sheer, traditional death metal with a suitable dose of melodiousness. With four full-length albums already under the belt, international tours, and high rankings in reader-polls in several magazines, the band inked a new record deal with Agonia Records at the end of 2015.

Three years after their well-received Jacob "Volbeat" Hansen produced debut "Naja Naja” Kuko De Kobra are back with "A Girl And Her Giraffe". The main song writer and bassist John Sharling describes the release as "a rock record with a strong pop sensibility". Sharling has never been afraid to admit that deep down inside he is into pop - as long as it is served with "a healthy dose of guitar". That healthy dose of guitar comes easy when flanked by the duo Martin Jepsen Andersen (Blindstone, Meridian) and Thomas Christensen. Two very different players, though both rooted in blues and hard rock, who love nothing more than serving up raw riffs and fiery solos.
Martin Pagaard who co-produced "Naja Naja", sat in both the producer- and drum-chair on "A Girl And Her Giraffe". His and Sharlings agenda was clear from the start, they wanted to cut to the chase and make lean, strong songs. This working method meant that both pure hard rock, catchy power pop and a few quiet ballads now live side by side on a comprehensive and coherent album.
A few of the tracks have already been presented to the masses, as "Fitzroy Road (Head In The Oven)" was released online on the 50th anniversary of Sylvia Plath's death. "Ocean Wide" was released in August 2014 as an alternative and artistic music video, shot entirely on the iPhone.
A Kuko The Kobra concert is characterized by an immediate joy of being in the moment, a strong energy, powerful guitar duels and a mission to give the audience a good, unforgettable rock-party.

Dynamic Vermont metallers Barishi have just released the Endless Howl EP, the follow-up to 2013's acclaimed self-titled full-length. The band's new effort is a brilliant mix of progressive metal dynamics and inventive hardcore harshness that is at once creative, melodic, and captivating. The Endless Howl EP is streaming in its entirety and available for purchase here .
The Barishi sound is indeed one of depth and breadth. In a review of the self-titled debut, Andy Synn of NoCleanSinging.com described it as "avant-garde prog-metal, one which mixes Intronaut's more melodic and psychedelic tendencies with the hardcore bite and bitterness of Poison The Well and the same sort of autistic-savant creativity of Ihsahn's solo output." New Noise Magazine's Eric May spoke in broader terms of the band's promise and potential in writing that "it's going to be something that makes fans of everything from Dream Theater to the Dillinger Escape Plan to Enslaved happy." Get the picture? And that was the sound of a band just getting started. On Endless Howl, Barishi not only delivers on the promise of that debut, they take it to a whole other plane of existence.
Check out the official video for album track "Smoke from the Earth" at this location.
